40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Geeks

The idea of a geek has a long way from its original meaning and anyone could be called a geek if one's passionate and into a hobby hard enough to know heaps about it. I feel like it's almost cool to have something to be that passionate about and call yourself a food geek, literature geek, gaming geek, etc. I wanted to take it back to the latter sort of geek, which is the meaning of the word I grew up with and really, what better (and easier) way to create it than with one of the original video games, Tetris? I've loved that game for most of my life so it would eventually make it to my nails. Perfect opportunity.

I used two coats of Essence's Wild White Ways as a base and used HK Girl topcoat to stick the different coloured square rhinestones. Used the same topcoat to seal it all in. Simple  and quick as as that. Leaves me with more time for Tetris. :)

I had to plan the shapes out before I stuck them to my finger as I wanted to make sure they look good and they would fit. There has been plenty of times where designs look good in my head but when executed, they turn a little less pleasing to the eye. Who would have known planning ahead would come in handy? And I actually love these nails. They don't look great close up but they are sparkly and colourful. A good combination for the novelty nail.

Till next time,

33 Day Challenge: 3D

Oh yes! Day 11 of the challenge has come. I love sticking stuff to my nails and when I came across this manicure at the beginning of September, I knew I wanted to recreate it. And recreated it I did. Everything minus the zebra nail. I also did this a couple of weeks ago, which means I won't be late for the 3D prompt. Yay!

I used two coats of Sinful Colors in Blue By You and one coat of Seche Vite as a base. On the ring finger, I applied one coat of Ulta3 in Clear and got myself sticking differently shaped rhinestones at random. I made sure the 6 or 7 colours I used were distributed on the nail and that I didn't end up with the same colour rhinestone adjacent to each other.

I got really picture heavy in this post but there is another version of the manicure after the break.

Sassy Paints Guest Post

Hello, hello! I'm gonna keep it super short today. I've written my first ever guest post for Sassy Nails as she's starting a Sassy Saturday Guest Post series and I'm a thrilled to kick it off. Yes, it's Sunday in Australia but think of time differences. :)

This is the preview but you can check out the whole post here.

Enjoy and let me know what you think!

Till next time,

Laura
